Meeting Minutes

October 14, 2009

Meeting start time: 7:30 PM

1. September 09, 2009 Meeting Minutes reviewed.  One addition requested by David Martin to include the name of the man in Canada who restored the fire truck. 

Motion: Susan Rich motioned to approve the September 09, 2009 Minutes as corrected.

Second: Shirley Schofield

Vote:      Unanimous

2. 203 Mountain Street request for demolition:  David Martin, Reese Schroeder, Gordon Hughes and Shirley Schofield toured the property on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 3:00 PM to review condition.  Gordon advised that structure of house was pretty far gone, and barn had mature tree growing through it.

Motion:  Gordon motioned to allow future owner to proceed with demolition permit for dwelling, barn and outbuildings.

Second: Shirley Schofield

Vote:      Yes: David Martin, Gordon Hughes, Shirley Schofield, Reese Schroeder.

               Abstained: Susan Rich.

               Motion carried.  Approved.

3. 811 Bay Road – Barn

The house is to be remodeled, but the barn is intended to be demolished.

Motion: Shirley Schofield motioned to approve request for demolition of the barn formerly belonging to the Field Family.

Second: Gordon Hughes

Vote:      Yes: David Martin, Gordon Hughes, Shirley Schofield, Reese Schroeder.

               Abstained: Susan Rich.

               Motion carried.  Approved.

4. Reese Schroeder presented presentation printed copies of all Property Inventories, minus 6 remaining to be printed.  Remainder will be printed and provided at next meeting.  Susan Rich will write the cover letter to accompany each property survey.  Gordon Hughes will produce mailing labels and obtain envelopes.  David Martin will obtain official letterhead for printing the cover letters.

5. Historical Commission / Historic District Commission Elections

David Martin – Chairman

Susan Rich – Vice Chairman

Reese Schroeder – Secretary

Motion: David Martin motioned to approve the nominations of officers.

Second: Susan Rich

Vote:      Unanimous

6. 2009 Presentation Award nominations

a. Fawcett - 14/16 Maple Avenue (nominated by Shirley Schofield)

b. Jeneral – Cottage Street

c. Rosenbaum – Pleasant Street (nominated by Shirley Schofield/David Martin)

d. Hixson – 14 Pleasant Street

Vote to take place at next regular meeting.

7. David Martin will have a Commission email address set up with the Town.

8. CPC funds request presentation at Town Meeting:

a. Map of 2008 inventory areas

b. Map of 2009 proposed areas

c. Example inventory page

Town Meeting is November 09, 2009.  Susan Rich and Reese Schroeder will work to assemble presentation.
